고양시는 지난 31일 고양인재교육원 가와지볍씨홀에서 ‘팬데믹 시대, 고양시민의 인권을 말하다’를 주제로 2022년 고양시 인권 토론회를 개최했다.

이번 토론회는 코로나19 팬데믹 상황에서 드러난 우리 사회의 취약점을 인권 관점에서 분석·진단하고, 포스트 코로나를 대비한 선제적인 고양시 인권기반 정책 방향을 함께 논의하고 의견을 나누기 위해 마련됐다.

토론회에는 고양시장, 고양시의장, 고양시민, 시민사회단체, 관련 공무원 등 약 50여 명이 참석했으며, 현장 참석이 어려운 시민을 위해 고양시·고양TV 유튜브 채널을 통해 생방송으로 송출됐다.

먼저 ‘팬데믹이 불러온 불평등과 인권’을 주제로 김창엽 서울대학교 보건대학원 교수가 주제 발표를 했다. 김창엽 교수는 “현재 사회 구조 체제가 감염과 확산의 불평등을 키운다는 점을 중요하게 다뤄야 한다”고 지적했다.
